I have a Meta alarm (M99T with M36T2 Immobiliser) like everyone else I think. Everything is working except for the beep and the siren, which makes it a bit pointless. I know it works because the indicators flash when you upset it and it locks and unlocks. I presume I need to replace the siren batteries or the siren itself. Is the siren the bit that makes the beeping for locking/unlocking too? Does anyone know where it is located or have they had similar problems?

Hi
I had the same problem and it turned out that the siren needed replacing. It is a sealed unit with a 3 or 4(can't remember)pin plug connector.
The siren is located on censored
Before you go and buy a new siren (about £75) it is worth checking the connetor for corrosion as due to the location it does take a bit of pounding if you drive in the rain.
It's about an hour's job if you can get the censored off with no problems, three screws underneath and a small coach bolt in the top left and right hand corners, which are a bit fiddly as the service bonnect restricts access. You may also find the screws maybe seized(mine were) but it's not too much trouble to re-tap them as the captive nuts are brass.
hope this helps.

ETA Sorry for the edit but we don't want every scrote knowing the location of the siren do we?

Speak to Carl Baker at car & Bike. He is Meta/TVR alarm god. When mine fell silent it was becasue the loom was tight and it had unplugged itself. They can suffer water ingress too which can knacker the plug and or the siren

Thanks for all your help guys, I stripped everything back and found the siren was rotten inside and so was the plug. New wiring and siren, all back together again and working a treat.

hello,

Do you guys know if it is possible to avoid the 4 beeps when you lock it 10s before you closed the door? I dont like attracting the attention at me and the car when I park, it just think these 4 bips are a bit "too much". Thanks

ROFLMAO....you don’t want to attract attention! You just drove there in a Tuscan.

Turn the interior light off, that should do the trick. smile

hy guys
sorry to hook-in on this topic but can't seem to get an answer on my question were the microwave sensor is located in my tuscan.(censoredsmile)
everybody glancing at the car within 1/2 meter distance sets the alarm off
it's very annoying knowing that i will allways have to park the car on the other end of a carpark with lots of surrounding space

ETA location removed.

It's a public forum mate. Everyone does'nt need to know where it's located. Contact your dealer, the person you purchased it from or Meta.

No I love to attrack the attention when driving, but not that way, when parking in front of a nice place. Might be a cultural difference but for us (french people biggrin), the bips when you lock the car were there back in the 80s so that girls check your brand new R18 when you park in front of the macumba night club, right after you removed the huge cassette player, with its little handle biggrin. Very kitch and not classy.
