The owners hand book states the gearbox oil capacity is 1.4 litres.
But I have read on this forum before, a few times, that people just feed the oil in till it runs out of the refill hole.

So far I have put in almost 1.7 litres, and it is not coming out of the hole yet.

Which is the best rule of thumb? Can you overfill these T5s?

Thanks
Cad

I filled mine until it ran out of the hole. it used almost 2 litres of the stuff. the box was bone dry as it had been washed so the oil had to fill all the nooks and crannies which only takes a spoon full more compared to a drain out and refill job.

id be interested to know about 1.4 litres or to the filling hole though.

Make sure you've got the car jacked up level to do this check properly and you fill until it starts running out of the hole

Shayne, after speaking to a few people 'in the know', it seems the 1.4 lirte could be a mis print in the owners handbook hehe
Fill to the hole.
