What other watch now?
Discussion
Had an Omega constellation auto with diamond markers and bi- metal bracelet for my 50th. Sadley after a few probs it has been (written off). Apparently the rotor had been replaced at some time with a non omega part causing massive internal wear. The shop are trying in vain to find another but they seem to be rather rare. They say they have a rolex bi-metal oyster with white dial coming in and would i be interested, although i may have to add a few quid to buy it. On the whole i have'nt liked the look of any Rolex watches i have seen. They dont seem to me to have the understated class that the constellation has. Whats your opinion gents? How do you think they compare quality wise, and what would you prefer?
I must admit I am not a Constellation fan but I'm not too sure about bi-colour rolexs' either. I have a SS and a gold one and I really only wear the gold one for formal occasions.
I would say try it and see what you think. Your the one who is going to be wearing it.
With regards to understated class of the Constellation as opposed to Rolexs', remember that yours had diamonds on the dial! Not particularly understated so give the Rolex a go. Presumably it is a bi-colour oyster date or similar so a pretty classic watch.

I've got a bi-metal constallation auto with champagne face and love it's elegance compared to Rolex. The slim case and bracelet that curves into the case is a beautiful design - but it's really a dress watch. The movement 'feels' far better than either of my Rolex when setting the time, just more precise imho. (Actually my Speedy does too.....)
Only problem is with the fashion for mahoosive watches, it does look very, very small now. Perhaps a resurgence will come later as fashion never changes, it's just constantly regurgitated in cycles.....
