in order to stop my car trying to kill me on lumpy B roads I've purchased some GG Pro's. Spoken to supplier and had advice on settings etc BUT what (and possibly how do) should the ride height be set to. I know rear slightly more than front but....

can I do this via fitting or is it a case of buggering around once they are on? any fitting tips?

plus any "settings" tips from users - car still has 255's on the front if this clarifies

ta lots hopefully this will limit the little fker trying to pitch me off my local bumpy B roads!

Before you remove your current shocks, take measurements (on flat surface) at the 4 outer corners of outriggers, and also from wheel arch to wheel rim (vertically down centre of wheel). This will give you a good starting point for fitting.

Several posts on here with settings, but leave them soft (just a few clicks) and drive carefully for about 20 miles after fitting to allow everything to move and 'bed in' before adjusting properly for height.

Fitting is fairly simple but may take a few hours to remove old units and fit the new ones. WD40 first. Undo the ARB drop link nuts to allow more movement of wishbones. You may need to spread the upper shock mount lugs slightly with a block of wood or pry bar to squeeze in the new spherical bearings and top hats. Use plenty of copper grease on bolts and threads.

What spring rates did you get ? I can measure how far up the thread my lower spring cups are, which should give you quite an accurate setting to start with. I also found a few clicks higher than Derek suggested suits me better for fast B-road driving and 2 more for track days.

I have also problem with setup.
For my suggestion i have too hard springs. My Gaz golds are supplied from a German garage and when i adjust as mentioned from Derek the suspensions feels ok on good roads, but it is very bumpy like you only have have changed springs to lower the car. If i set more comfortable the car is also in motion in short frequences (like springs are too hard).
With old Bilsteins before it was really more comfortable, but no damping
because they were too old.
Can anyone help?
Can i buy softer springs anywere?

Thanks Uwe

thanks for this - spring rates are (so I'm informed) 400 front 325 rear. I have "stupidly" already taken the fronts off without any measuring. TBH the rears sat very high - I'm reasonably sure they are slightly "blown" and there is sod all "bounce" at the rear. They came off nice and esy though so she's sat on axle stand waiting!

I'd appreciate the measurements - I intended to buy from Derek but he hasn't got any in stock and really need to sort the handling out (have time to fit them this week) so bought from Dave at Dampertech.
