dump valve need help

I just installed a dump valve the problem is it works fine for about 20 minutes then it stops, the next day I drive it is fine again for about 15 to 20 minutes and it stops working can anyone help me. thank you Alain

What Esprit do you have? What dump valve did you buy and who fitted it? Have you checked the pipe's are connected securely?

It needs to be worked a bit as it is tight. Heat also makes the new plunger stick sometimes till it breaks free. If you are in a real hurry to get it to work right, take it apart and clean it. If you are mechanically inclined I can give you dis-assembly and reassembly instructions to take the BOV aparts.

The dump valve I bought from JAE in Santa barbara it is for 90 esprit se, it is same one like moto concept sells, it was installed as stated in the instructions I am going to get a replacement valve to see if the valve is faulty, if the same thing happens with the new valve I dont what to look for, maybe it does take time to break in I have set at the lowest setting.

The valve is not faulty. It is not unusal for this type of behavior. Use it for a few weeks at full open least out to trigger it. It will not open all the time as it is only meant for venting at near full boost to lessen the impact of turbo back pressures, it loosens up after a while and will need to be readjusted after a month or so.

I know this sounds silly, but check all of the connections to be sure they are tight. Having installed one on mine recently, a vacuum hose would occasionally come off and I swear I could still hear the BOV, just not as often as I would with the hose on. Luckily, I discovered this just before a run on the dyno while the tech. was connecting up to the spark plug wire to monitor engine speed. There was a split in the hose that allowed it to slide off.
