Hi,

On my car i have four main screens - oil pressure, oil and water temperatures, odometer/temp/metric speed, and tacho.

However on a friend's car (tuscan_al) he has a different layout, and he has a screen which has lots of lines including oil and water temperatures, oil pressure, tacho and fuel litres all on one screen.

Is this a different pod or just different firmware/software?

The software and/or pod internals were revised over time. Apprantly not easy to change, but that was from my dealer in 2002 so maybe a fob off.

When was your car built? Mine built in June 2000 has the screen like Tuscan Al's.

My 2001 Y plate has the multi info screen with about 9 lines of info, I tend to leave it on that one all the time (and of course the EFI Warning screen wink )

Same here as well.

Six different dash layouts possible for a Y reg.

Over on mytuscan.co.uk they have a downloadable user manual which mentions the same four screens i have.

What i really need is a definitive answer - is this software (if so how can i upgrade mine) or hardware (can i get a new pod from a breaker)?

VerySideways,

I'm out and about in Sunningdale at the mo, will be finished with work about 3pm then heading back to Reading. I also have my handbook in the car if you wanted to compare screens, mine is a late 2001 model with the 9 lines of data on the first screen.

my 2003 Tuscan has the multiple lines of info (not sure if that answers your question or not!)

Pete, its prob to do with your sagaris ecu, and that gives out different info, and meant for the wavey dash type.

Try the TVR number (0845 0031377) and ask for Paul Smith (@ Wesham) to contact you... If anyone can tell you he can...be interesting to see if you get a response...I've been assured that they will return calls.

I don't think so Alex as my owners handbook shows the dash to be exactly as i have it - only four screens.
Just hoping it's a software upgrade as the screen itself appears exactly the same.

Thanks - i will try that phone number.

Aha - spoke to Dom@Power and he also mentioned Paul Smith.

Tried that number below and hey presto left a message, within 10 minutes Paul had called me back.

It seems the pod in my car is a very early one - to upgrade it would mean changing a couple of boards and a few chips and some programming (which Paul has given me a quote for). Now, as my hazard light switch has also given up the ghost it makes sense for me to just see if i can purchase a secondhand pod from another Tuscan.

Anyone got a spare?? smile
