Gel Batteries - Any experience & which one to use??

My car seems to have eaten yet another battery! Think that makes 3 in 2 years!

The car is a 2000 W reg so an early car.

I was wondering if anyone has used a gel battery and if so what the experience was like.... cost, performance, ability to not get destroyed by a TVR , etc

Are they not covered under warranty?

Would it not be an idea to resolve the root of the problem?

are you leaving to go flat at all? Seems odd. Batteries normally have 3/4 year warranty?

Just replaced mine with 096 battery, has 680 cranking amps so no trouble turning her over at all.

old battery wouldnt hold charge.

I think the root of the problem is the alarm which I may get ripped out!

Yes it is covered by warranty as long as when the old one goes back it's tested as faulty.

The reason I ask is if a gel battery would be a bit better for a car that drains the battery.

I did have it on charge but with the alarm on. The trickle charger didn't bring it back to life so assuming the battery has died.

Just wondered about gell batteries.
