Carrera Cup

Ok heads up on a championship i'm planning..

Dirty Rides, GB Carrera Cup

All Car are strictly based of the Porsche GT3 Cup as use in the GB Carrera Cup,

All cars will be built and painted by myself, they will all be replicas of cars from the current 2009 cup.

8 Cars will be built so there is an 8 competitor limit (more on this later).

The Cars will come built with a Base tune and NO changes can be made by the player to the UPGRADES or GEAR RATIOS, as these will mirror the real cars. (yes I have found out the details of the real cars down to this level )

But like a real one make championship, competitors are free to tune all other parts of the car, just no changes to the UPGRADES or GEAR RATIOS (got that lol).


The full details of the build will follow.



So this a rich mans cup in real life so let make it the same in our little Forza world.



Appearance fee,

Just for turning up and racing you will get 50k per race.

Per Race prize money:

Winner: 1 Million
Runner Up 400k
3rd Place: 200k

Championship prize money:

Winner: 10 Million
Runner Up 5 Million
3rd Place: 3 Million
4th Place: 1.5 Million

The Winner will also get one of my LE 997 Turbo BOTP cars, which sold for 35 million plus each.


Now as there are only 8 places, if we have more than 8 people that want in we will have to have qualifying. This will done in the form of a 4 lap no collisions races in stock GT3 RS cars. The winner of the race will be irrelevant it will be the top 7 times that go through. (only 7 as I get a bye ). There will also be 2 reserve places to cover dropouts or no shows..

As I have to paint 8 different cars its going to be awhile before this is ready to go, so this is really just a heads up and see you in a month or 2.

Oh and the last benefit of getting a place in this championship is the car. Each competitor gets a race replica done to my anal standards to keep. J

Sounds brill, my only concern is my lack of ability so let's (in a nice way) hope there's only 8 people interested! The qualifying route sounds good as some (probably me) will crack under pressure.

Sounds great, but I think it will be difficult to restrict the gear ratios. Probably best to have it on stock upgrades & tuning.

Or maybe to make it easier use the GT3 in either R3 or R4 (can't remember)

Having different Gear Ratios will be painfully obvious off the line or down the Straights won't it though?

PH is an honour system. If anyone was to break the rules to win an online driving competition they would have serious issues imo

I apreasheate you're input tim, but please just let me do it my way. I dont want this thread to turn in to: 'Thats great Joe BUT do it this way...etc etc' which seems to happen a lot on this forum LOL.

It really is easy to spot if any ones changed anything (eer replay's + telemetry) but i would hope that in the spirit of the Rule and FRIENDS playing a GAME no one would even think of breaking the rules.. I mean we are all grown up ... arnt we?

I'm obviously up for this but not upto the standard of the PH lead racers.

How about a second lobby for 'GT3' Porkers (basically the same cars but less tunes and sport boxes only) for us less talented drivers.

If JH thinks it's a good idea (as this is his baby) then I'm up for it as I think I'd struggle to get into the top 8 and it would give us all a chance to have a race in the Porkers.

BTW Nick (i8thisname) did a great replica of the Sam Hancock / Phil Quaife JOTA car from last years Carrera Cup. I'm sure he posted pictures somewhere.

Just had another thought about this. It would (could) end up like the Carrera Cup with a Pro lobby and an Am lobby as per the classes in the actual Championship! As I said though, JH this is your little jem of an idea so let us know what you think.

I think we will be lucky to get 8 players that turn up to all rounds. Look at the nations cup etc..
So i'm going to stick to having reserves that can compete if there are drop outs.
The reserves will get a replica of the 'stock' GT3 RS CUP.
