Arnage / Mulsanne Parking

Does anyone know for sure if the ticket you need to buy to get to the Arnage car park on the Saturday and Sunday also allows you to get access to the Mulsanne car park too ?

Or is it a case of having to buy a separate parking ticket for each one ?

I *think* (hope...) it's the former, but it's not entirely clear from the ACO website whether one ticket gets you into both.


And on that subject, do the shuttle buses only go to Arnage corner, or do they also take you round to Mulsanne ?

As far as I can recall you don't need a ticket to park at the Mulsanne enclosure, once you've parked you will need you General Admission tickets to access the circuit there. Same applies to Arnage. Last time I used them teh shuttle busses ran to both enclosures but beware; from about Sunday Lunchtimethere's a real bunfight to get back in time for the finish.

That used to be the case, but they've changed it for this year.

Previously your camping pass would get you in, but they've changed that now to try and reduce the congestion down to Arnage corner. You need to have a separate ticket to park at Arnage and Mulsanne on the Saturday and Sunday (but not for the Wednedsay and Thursday).

I think it is a bit silly you have to buy parking tickets to go a view at both corners now.

It was never that bad with traffic when I go down to those corners (midnight - 4am)

The cost is only 8 euros, so it seems the ACO even feel a bit bad at now charging for those areas.

So is there now going to be a great big mess on the roads near the car parks as people try and park for free, as they are only going to view from the other corners for a shortish time?

I did wonder how they were going to police it. The price isn't really enough of a disincentive for people not to go down there in their cars, and where are they going to stop the cars without tickets ? At the car park itself ? If so, that won't really cure the congestion problem if people try and park by the side of the road.

As it's a one way system, I would imagine they will check the tickets at the t-junction you turn left into (coming from the Porsche curves), if you don't have the ticket they'll wave you on to Arnage village.

If so, it's still going to be chaos approaching that junction anyway......

If not and they check at the car park it won't make any difference anyway...

I'm planning on buying ours when we get there, from the main ticket sales marquee thing.

But no idea if you need to buy them before you head down there on Saturday, or if you can just buy them 'at the gate' as it were.

all the other car parks have done sales at the gate, at least parking bleu certainly used to.

I might buy mulsanne in advance, as i enjoy going there a little bit more than arnage corner. If I were to choose.

Not so, I think, particularly for the car parks alongside all the grandstands. For example Parking Blanc access is by ticket only purchased weeks beforehand, so is Techno Parc and all the others I think. In fact, I am not aware of any official parking where you can just turn up and pay on the gate. I am resdy to be corrected by other PHers of course!

I got a reply from the ACO Ticket office:

"Dear Sir,
No you need one ticket for Arnage car park, and one ticket for Mulsanne car park if you want to park in both car parks. However these car parks are fully booked by now!
You will only be able to purchase general entrance tickets upon arrival at Le Mans.
They are still some car parks available (Vert, Rouge, Blanc, Antarès Sud, Expo, Rotonde). These are not close to the Arnage Mulsanne areas but you can ride shuttle buses from the circuit main entrance to Arnage or Mulsanne."

Bit disappointing to be honest. I imagine the buses are going to be a proper bun-fight so may have to write off a trip down to Arnage / Mulsanne for the race. Either that or get 'creative' in terms of parking for Mulsanne corner....

Well that's a bit of a balls up - we were going out for a dawn run to Mulsanne and Arnage.

Has anyone got a spare ticket? Or perhaps we can all share a couple!

Chances of Pierre being up all night to check tickets by dawn's early light ??

I'm sure there's a perfectly valid reason why they've done this - but it does smack of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it...;. To be honest, it wasn't that big of a deal to queue for an hour or so to get into the car parks at Arnage. And if it's not widely known that you need these tickets (but can't buy them on the gate) then I imagine the traffic problems elsewhere are going to be even worse !

Feedback from a conversation with the ACO

"I've just been speaking to the ACO, so tried to get the Arnage/Musanne parking situation clarified (again!).
There are no parking passes left. Although this does not necessarily mean no space left. However, they are still not sure how it's all going to work, and there may be the possibility that you can buy a ticket when you are there.

Likewise, they have no idea how they are going to deal with the people who have pre-bought passes, those who know about it and want to buy them on the gate, and those who don't know there is a charge and are expecting to just turn up and gain access."

So that's clear then! ACO performing to type.

I've parked near the bar on the corner at Mulsanne for the past few years, then walked through the industrial estate and entered the circuit at the back of the little campsite there. I found this was less painful than using the Mulsanne car park. Arnage on the other hand will be chaos with a ticketing system...

I'll be interested to hear how it all goes.

It was only when I saw and read this thread that I realised that a GA ticket wouldn't get me into Arnage or Mulsanne car parks as it has done on previous years. As other posters have also said I predict complete chaos at Arnage because MOST people who have GA tickets will not realise this (unless it's actually printed on the tickets - mine haven't arrived yet) I too have walked through the industrial estate before at Mulsanne and I might try this again this year as even if you've got a ticket for Arnage I bet it will be horrible trying to get in there.
