I came across this

Looks like it could be useful in the event of problems.
Is it legal ?

the do a good line in ASP`s too geuine ASP as well
But
do they where your pockets linings out quick.
used do a lot of handy stuff includding cuff keys all ways handy. there all was handy if you keep one stuffed in your belt
there the lot what sold the ceramic knifes and stuff to the reporter, who smugeled them on a aircraft.
so they stoped sell some of the more dogey stuff.
re the billy bat you have more chance getting away with a real baseball bat in the boot.
as long as you remember to put a gl;ove and ball in too.

Got to say great idea however,
You step out.....he pulls a knife.....you pull a knife...he pulls a gun.....you pull a shotgun.....he pulls a machine pistol....you pul........!!!
Leave it to the pro's and always call for help.
Needed help last night on the M25 response time was 3 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you blow him away with said shotgun while he fumbles around with afformentioned machine pistol
I agree with what you say though, best leave it to the pros, then there is no chance of you getting done for assult.
but remember they arnt always 3 minutes away and even if they are, a lot can happen in that time. Its always wise to be prepared
The '53 Act defines an offensive weapon as one that is made, adapated or intended to causing injury. In the specific circumstance of this bat, I would ask the CPS to consider why a supposed anti-theft device needed a padded handle. I would also quote the advert which says:
As with all anti-theft devices it can legally be carried in your car at all times.
The meaning of this is unlikely to be too obscure for the court.
That said, I would expect the CPS to refuse to run it unless it had been used to cause or threaten injury.

I would think you would be better off carrying a few half bricks around in your car as you could easily justify their use as 'chucks'(sp) under your wheels if you need to park on a hill.
And if that happened to be the first thing that came to hand......
