Audi a4 2.0T Fsi fuel economy?
Discussion
Hi Guys, looking for an estate car and an A4 S line is strong in my wish list. I have noticed that the petrol turbo versions are a bit cheaper than the 140bhp oil burners, so what is the difference in economy? I do mainly motorway mileage, and my Passat sport that i have just sold returned 45ish MPG most of the time. I have a budget of 10-12K and the petrol ones seem to come with a few more goodies too!
I have the 2.0 TFSI S line multitronic saloon (55 plate). Over about 10,000 maily urban and occasional motorway miles the computer is showing an average of about 25 mpg. On the trip setting, the car shows an average of about 30 - 33 mpg on a decent motorway run cruising at 80 - 85 ish with no nutcase acceleration.
I don't do many miles so I didn't consider a diesel. The 2.0 T engine is smooth and torquey and the 200bhp is plenty for a car of this size. It sounds really dull though.
I don't like the multitronic box though - the only way out of that if you want an auto is to get the quattro which comes with the tiptronic box but economy will be worse with the 4wd.
So, all in all, a nice engine but pretty thirsty I say if you use it properly.
