Oh of course its Robs old car. I was thinking that me self but...
Anyway that was at Nick Cartrights in 2007. I was with Rob at a few shows when he owned that car, he loved it to. I have some photos of that car when we were at Vmax 2006.
It was a very nice car though there was some electrical gremlins.

its definately one that is in the mix, really i would like a black one but have only ever seen one of those for sale in a manual.
does anyone know what nick cartwrights place sold it for? and what those electrical gremlins were?
the car is up at £37k, what does eveyone think? is that good value on the face of it, obviously subject to having it inspected etc....the other option i am looking at is a 456 manual but there are also not many manuals on those about either.....
i will try and get hold of 'hud' but my cs log in never seems to work so may have to re apply....

It certainly had a fuseboard or relay problem in Cannes and wouldn't start, it was sorted by the local dealer and ROb had the Car back in Monaco I believe a day or two later, other than that and the n/s wheel nearly falling off on the autoroute to Paul Ricard I thought it was generally OK does anyone know what nick cartwrights place sold it for? and what those electrical gremlins were?

am i right to discount the back on because of the F1 box?
thanks for all your input!

I would SPECULATE that the wheel falling off was corrosion to the front hubs.
This was a factory recall back in the day so most cars should be sorted now - worth having checked though for any potnetial F355 buyers.
unfortunately it was caused by loose Wheel bolts, the Car had just been serviced but I can't comment on by whoThis was a factory recall back in the day so most cars should be sorted now - worth having checked though for any potnetial F355 buyers.

thanks for the info and the help contacting hud.....much appreciated.....i seem to have sorted the money side of it with the guy who's selling it, so know i need to decide if getting it inspected is worthwhile as it will have a warranty.....
andy
I'd always get it inspected andy
Hi Andy, yes it was my old car.
I purchased the car in 2005 as a reposession snatch back and paid £47k for it. The car had previously been owned by Naseem Hamed and also Martin Shaw, the service history was a little sketchy but it did all theck out, albeit the book itself wasnt fully completed. It had spent quite a few services at Bentley Manchester iirc. I never quite believed the indicated mileage, but sadly that is quite common place across the marque. the car had at that point had around 8 owners. Reg was P776 JJC i think.
The car was a bit scruffy when i first got her, interior was quite worn on the bolsters and the centre console had been butchered (shortened) to accomodate a rather ugly sub woofer under the dash. Looking at the pics it still appears to still be that way, it bugged the hell out of me as i wanted a perfect, original car!
The paintwork was average (Le Mans Blue) and everything worked. I replaced the wheelnuts with Hills ones, i fitted carbon door sills and quite a bit of money servicing etc on her. Most of the work was done at s
tech in Loughborough during that time.
I had the immobiliser ripped out as it had an ability to disarm the car with no notice, i also had the fuel pump relay burn out, causing damage to the fuse board (temporarily repaired By ferrari monaco). There was an issue with the wheel coming detached, mainly due to a technician not applying enough torque.
The wheels were pretty good and the car drove well, i had a de-cat tubi fitted which sounded gorgeous - flames also were quite a nice touch!
Anyhow, its not a bad car if its the right price. There are, however, cleaner examples out there - and with the age of them now it might be worth considering spending a bit more. Condition is everything with these things come re-sale time.
