Car is in need of new rubber and am considering which make to go with.

I've always run with PS2's, but am now considering moving to R888 as i beleive they have much superior dry grip.

Has anyone on here run these two and if so, what would you suggest??

Thanks
R

I have no experience of the 888's, but after taking the Conti's off of my 19's and switching them to PS2's I would say the dry grip is superb!

The Toyo's do indeed offer much better DRY grip than the PS2s. HOWEVER, their wet grip is much worse than the PS2s, and they last about half as long as the PS2s.

If this is just for road use, then don't bother.

Not sure which car you've got, but I've found Toyo T1-Rs to be the grippiest road tyre I've used (on my E36 M3), much better than PS2s etc.

If its just for road work... forget 888's stick with PS2's / REO50's or TR1's maybe..

Depends what car you have too??

If it is something heavy like an E46 or E39 then I wouldn't bother with the R888's, if it is something lighter like and E30 then they are great.

Alpina Roadster?

Avoid the R888's if you drive exclusively on the road.

Correct. Ran both (on a GT3). Noise is also an issue with 888s.

Tyres are to be run on the Z4MC which is much lighter than the m3, so presumably this should be ok, shouldn't it??

Also i don't really drive the car that much anymore - little one on the way.. It now spends most time in the garage and only comes out for late night hoons, euro trips and track days. This and brakes are the last weak links left, hence looking for a more agressive compound!!!
