Seat brakes rusted on New 08 model
Discussion
I brought my Seat Ibiza 1.4 sport at the end of Oct 08 and my rear brakes are rusted already. Rust started forming in Jan 09 and now is quite bad.
With my alloy wheels my car looks crap as it is very visible.
I have tried to speak to Seat and they have got back to me and they said that they wouldn't do anything.
Has any one had any luck with Seat in getting them replaced or getting them to treat their brakes.
I no that I could sand down the brake to clear the rust then paint it but that is not the point. I have heard that she is common, the dealer told me that much.
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!

it isnt a problem mechanically that the outside of the brake drums rust, and every OE brake drum will corrode at some point. as far as im aware, no company under the sun will do anything about corroding brake drums as they still do exactly what they are meant to (and there is no guarantee given that they wont corrode)
sand them down and give them plenty of paint so that it wont happen again!

Whether you decide to paint or not, I'd give them a quick wire brush (to remove loose rust) then a coat of Kurust. This will neutralise the rust, give them a black look, and also be an ideal 'primer' for any other paint you decide to use.
Do use a high temp paint - although the drums won;t get THAT hot, I would use a VHT paint. You don't want to find it bubbling off...
