I've just tried to have my Aircon unit refilled but the garage came back to me saying they don't know how much 'stuff' to put in. Does anybody know?

From the wiki:

Air-con - What's the recharge weight of refrigerant needed?
Noble state 1KG but 950g has been suggested by a few people.

I`ve been through all my documentation and can`t find a reference but it should be PAG 150 oil. I`m guessing that there is a set relationship between the mass of refrigerant and the mass of oil which an A/C specialist can advise.

Unless yuor replacing every item in the system it doesnt matter how much oil is in there as you wont get it all out. Its all guestimation unless you have a machine that measures how much you get out.

If there just recharging and dont have a machine to measure how much is taken out then 50-100ml will be ok to put back in
