Oz slots..painted or polished
Discussion
Hello all
I've never been entirely happy with the Chim wheels that came with my car, so I have been on the look out for a set of Oz slots after Barkychoc showed me his brand new ones, which looked really good up against the car.
Anyway, I won a set on Ebay last week, that although pretty sound with no major damage or marks, are a little pitted, and could really do with being diamond cut, but that's a bit pricey right at the minute
Anyway, I have set about them over the past few days...polished one a little bit, rubbed down, primed and painted another. What do you guys think looks best, and does anyone have any photos of any originals/new wheels so I can try and match the finish please.
Personally I prefer painted...shiney looks a bit too shiney for my liking..
Cheers

Personally I like the one on the left - painted. However, my S1 has the shiny ones (it isn't here so can't show you a photo) and I think that looks best on Arctic White...I reckon it depends on the colour of your car and what image you want to send. You want to be 80's retro-bling or keep it on the low down with some dark bodywork and painted wheels?
Thanks chaps
Looks like I'll be stocking up on primer and wet-and-dry..
I rubbed them down with fairly coarse wet-or-dry to get any blemishes off, primered them, rubbed down with fine paper used wet (2 coats), then sprayed them with Halfords wheel trim spray. I tried Pugeot Aluminium silver first, but it was too metallic and artificial looking.
Painted all the black bits in by hand, then 3 coats of lacquer all over.
cheers
