Good job andy & will. Any news on john bradshaw? I saw a facebook cnmment describing a great driving job saturday, then today, no mention of him in the results. Hope all is ok.
Cheers Jon.JB's oil pump belt came off but his engine is intact. He decided descretion was the better part of valour..lol
I'm sure he'll come on and explain..
Huge well done to Frosty & Slinky, well done Andy the car looked effortless all weekend
Great to see some unusual cars running some fairly serious times in Kings of Europe as well - loved the Renualt 5 turbo - mad little thing!
The longer in this game the more relaxed & frustated i get about having the ideal weekend - lol
Great saturday with a couple of runs on low boost just to make sure the car was ok after the recent rebuild & all good a couple of 7.8's into a headwind with the first run probably being 1/2 a mile rather than a 1/4 after trying to take various detours
Sunday - wake up to sunshine & what a tailwind !!! have not seen a tailwind for ages & my eyes lit up like xmas lights !! - turned the power up in anticipation....
Run 1 get down to the start line, pop myself in the burn out area & go to press the brakes to get the car ready & no brakes at all & a broken handbrake which also has the 2 stage limiter on - it was fine in the morning at scruiteneering
- all we can think off is that it must have been the guy who was fitting the in car camera who leant on it by mistake - but no great hassles - managed to get it fixed ready for the 2nd qualifying run.
Run 2 - do the burnout & the engine dies after i stop past the lights, try to crank it over & very slow to crank but fires into life & then dies again - bonnet off & turns out the belt has come off the oil pump - never happened before & obviously thinking the worst at this stage.
Complete bottom end strip down over the next hour & crank unmarked etc, looks like it just needs a new set of shells thank christ, so could have been a hell of a lot worse. Might have to hold my hand up as hit the limiter in 5th gear on the burnout & maybe that threw the belt off?. So so lucky as being honest if it had done major damage that probably would have been it for the year with the car as cannot afford a major rebuild after splashing out for the new car later in the year that we also need to try & test.
So all in all gutted not to have the chance to have taken advantage of the weather & track but an intact engine that will be ready for the Main Event has kept a smile on my face
We know the car is ready to move on again just need a slice of lady luck for a weekend. Sure she is trying to give me a slap around the face for looking at a newer model
A cracking slow motion video got taken by Blackett Photography which is just awesome

Huge well done to Leon Green & Jon Webster whose beautiful Supra was simply fantastic all weekend, well into the 7's and a lot more to come i'm sure, be grest to see Steve Whittaker back & a number of cars going head to head in the 7's at Japshow in June.
