Don't fancy either much to be honest.
I know everyone's entitled to an opinion and all, but did you really have to post that?Maybe I'm being harsh, but given the car and the blonde the photography part is easy.

I'll say again, everyone's entitled to an opinion
Take your mind off the model, look at the angles, the lighting, the tone that the photographers pulled from that photo. Notice how the RAMS logo is a parallel line - someone's put a lot of thought into that shot, and cleaned their car. If it doesnt do it for you fair enough, but at least stick up a decent crit

Photography part is easy? Post some of your shots for us to admire?
I could but what holds me back is the presumption that that quality of my own shots has a bearing on the validity of my opinion on some else's. If that were the case then artistic criticism would be completely dead.andy-xr said:

Nice. Car is OK too
As much as on the photography. But since it comes to to it - yes, the angles are good and certainly someone has prepared the car and dressed the model. I just find this genre of photography to be uninspired and dated. OK, I realise it was meant to be a little retro (well I hope it was). But put a nice car and a nice model in the shot and you have a chunk of the audience saying it's great no matter what the quality of the photography. And in this case, IMHO, the car and the model weren't that great, the angles etc were OK but it's stuff that has done many times before and, no doubt, will be done many times in the future.
Thanks all

Out of curiosity Nick do you use a make-up artist for your shoots or does the model do it herself?
It depends, I try and keep the amount of people involved to a minimum. An MUA doubles the length of a shoot but I have used them before if the model doesn't feel happy without. Yesterday the model had an MUA round to her house before the shoot so turned up ready to go
