15K to spend - options?
Discussion
Hi all,
After 2 Caterham’s and one Westfield I’m considering a change. With a budget of 15K I want something that is unusual, fast, well built, soft top, reliable, noisy but with a degree of comfort and relatively cheap to run. I have looked at cars from mainstream manufacturers (Z4, MX-5, 350Z) but nothing really floats my boat as a second car. Any suggestions? I suppose a cobra rep is the obvious choice but I quite fancy something a bit different. Car will be bought second hand. Annual mileage will be somehwere between 3000 and 5000 and the car will be garaged when not in use.
Thanks and all the best.
Martin.

I had thought about a hawk 289. Not as agreesive as a 427 Cobra rep but should go very well indeed with a Rover or ford small block V8. Anyone got any experience of this car?
In fact the 289 could be a real sleeper. Classic 'slimline' looks, wire wheels and 250bhp in a car weighing about a tonne.

289 is the only Cobra I'd ever consider. Or the Hawk Ace.In fact the 289 could be a real sleeper. Classic 'slimline' looks, wire wheels and 250bhp in a car weighing about a tonne.
