aarrghh! coolant leaking into central console!!! ???
Discussion
When I open the heater control valve, I can smell antifreeze in the vehicle.
Haven't found any coolant leaks inside the cabin though. The heater is rarely used, once in a blue moon. I figure the cause is simply lack of use. Might I assume incorrectly? Heater hoses have recently been replaced. Aside from making sure the hoses are tight, anything else I could look for?

A leaking matrix will leak inside the heater box so the windscreen condensation will get worse as the heater warms up
Whereas with pipe connections they tend to leak outside of it and as the heat builds from the engine and gearbox it will evaporate and condensate on the windscreen when parked after a run.
Of course if it's a really good leak it goes everywhere. Mine was both, so I took the heater out twice as the first time I thought that I had found the cheap answer. It's never the cheap answer.
Then I decided to modify it by sealing all the air gaps and throwing one of my twin fans away.
I can now get the dash off and heater out in about 30 minutes. I replaced the dash nuts with wing nuts so a spanner is not required.
