Tag Heuer crystal screen
Discussion
I've had my watch around 9 months

However I’ve managed to scratch the 'Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal' screen. It is just a small hairline scratch between the 6th and 7th hand but it is really annoying me.
Is it possible to polish the scratch out at a jewellers, if so what will I be looking at paying or will I just have to live with it.

Just a quick word of warning.
I bought a replacement crystal for my Monaco off Ebay and found that it doesn't fit. I paid £38 from a man in Spain, but sorry I can't find his Ebay name.
Anyway, it's square so it looks the part, but the man in the watch shop explained it's the wrong profile.
If I can find his Ebay login, I'll post it later.

Shentodj

Find a reputable watchmaker- scratches can be polished out, even in saphire crystal. If you're planning on reselling it, though, then a replacement crystal might be the favoured option. If you've just bought it recently, you could always try visiting the place you bought it from and complaining that it got scratched so easily- they might get it done for free.

With regard to the above....
The guarantee does not cover accidental damage, in this case a scratch on the sapphire crystal. These are scratch-resistant but not scratch-proof, these are much harder/tougher than a mineral crystal used in other watches.
The Monaco has a plastic/acrylic crystal from which most scratches can be polished out, unfortunately you can't do this a sapphire crystal...
Have a look on the British Horological website to see your nearest decent, independant watchmaker. Fitting a new crystal is a 20 minute job....
Hope this helps.
