It's my stag do next weekend and whilst I trust my best man implicitly, I would like some advice on night life in the capital of culture.

We are going Thursday to Sunday. 12 lads for the first two nights and about 20 for the saturday night.

Planning on a night on Albert Dock, a student type night and a big one on the saturday.

Any suggestions for bars / pubs / clubs gratefully received. Looking for busy places with plenty of scenery ;-]

Also will we have any problems getting into places in a group? We are all quite responsible but you know what happens on stag do's!!

Cheers

Si

Albert Dock / News Bar: Posh totty
Concert Square: 18-25 year olds
Matthew St (Cavern area): Tends to be slightly older generation mixed with some 18-25's.

Busy places depends on what sort of music you like. Don't be too rowdy as a group and you will get in fine.

Depends what your into really, theres too many places to list and all very close together. Wherever you go on the Thursday and Friday will be busy beyond belief though as there are 3 universites worth of students who all finish their exams on the Thursday! Might see ya there!

Thanks and keep it coming.

To clarify, I want;

A student night, cheap beer (not too fused about price!), cheesy music and nice wimmens.

A chilled out night, Albert Dock??

A big night out on Saturday. Busy pubs (mixture of classy and not so classy if poss!!) and a nightclub at the end (just a fun place with some wimmins to dance with, nothing too hardcore)

We are all mid to late 20's.

Hmms well thursday is a student night, so a lot of the student places will want student Id to get into them. Popular favourites are the Blue angel/ The Raz just off berry st for some reason everyone goes here on a thursday despite it being the sttest dingiest place on earth. It will have a 200 person queue to get in, but it is meant to be the easiest place to pull in Liverpool.

Bar Ca Va is a pretty good tequila bar on wood street. I'd definitely go to Hannah's Bar on bold street and have a few 'doctor peppers'. Then maybe to one of the nightclubs, I think thursdays is Garlands.

As for Friday and saturday I havent a clue where to go as we student stick to weeknights and can't afford the posh places.

Newzbar isn't as good as it used to be and is the only place in that area of town worth going to. Matthew street is pretty tired nowadays and is the rougher part of town on a Saturday night. Don't venture into any of the tacky 80's, 90's or Lloyds places unless you want to see the dogs of Liverpool! Albert Dock is ok to start off in, but then you'll be wanting somewhere a bit more lively.

I prefer Concert Square area, in particular Alma De Cuba - google it and make sure you're in there for 11 when they do the shower thing.

All of the hot wimmins that I know are always going to Garlands. I imagine that would be a dead cert for awesomeness.

I think thursday is non gay night, as that's the only night anyone seems to go who isn't gay. It is full of girls though. All the gay people go to G bar opposite.

Having been on a stag night in Liverpool, I would argue there are very few attractive women. What attractive women there might have been have been ruined by the make-up equivalent of one Laurence Llewelyn Bowen's interior design schemes.

If that wasn't bad enough, the girls seem to communicate in a series of guttural quacks - much like a mallard.

On the plus side, the chances are they'll show you their tits without you asking. Seems to be a form of greeting with some females.

You will have an entertaining night though.

Thanks for the replies.

Are there certain areas of town for different types of drinking?

I know where I live, there are certain areas full of student pubs and a certain part of town for chavs and another for normal people. I can only imagine that Liverpool is the same?

Any further advice?

Last time I was in Liverpool (couple of years ago) place called Krazy house was good (it sold crates over the bar and there was a good variety of music)
