Hi peeps, When i brought my focus at xmas only got one key with a blue chip in it, no remote, now the drivers door lock barrel will not turn fully although the rest of the doors are opening, now i work for an indy garage so thinking it may help to ring my local fors (as we do alot of work for them,) and the best they can do is £120 for a key and to be programmed, now i dont really wanna pay that at the mo if i dont have to, so, can i get a fob made up for it? and get it programed to the car, its a 02 mk1 focus

all comments gratefully received,

The chip keys cost about £30 themselves, although if you wanna put together one of th original 3 button remote keys you're nearer £50 all in for parts as they come in two seperate bits. Programming doesn't csot alot, so I'd say they're not doing you any favours there!
Sounds like your key is worn. It works better in other doors cost they're not as worn. You can buy tumbler kits to rebuild the locks with to make them work all smooth again.
