Does anyone know where TVR sourced the alcantara used to trim the interior on the later cars? I'm thinking about having a play with some glue and cloth in the Griff smash

One supplier was/is Andrew Muirhead in Glasgow, there was another swatch but I can't remember the manufacturer. The wholesaler used for both is in Manchester but I plan to go to Muirheads with my car ,to get a spot on match with the cream leather I want ( I hope they will supply direct)... http://www.muirhead.co.uk/sti/muirhead/muirhead_ho...

Thank you, that was the Tuscan vert ... I've got a Chim 450 which is half leather with cerbera seats. Only the bum bit is leather, so I fancy having D&C trim recover the seats in leather. Trouble is getting a hide which matches the rest of the car (which is cream alcantara) and who needs an excuse for run up to Glasgow in a TVR... hehe

It's the little details in Alcantara that set the newer cars such as yours off IMO. The difference in finish on the newer ones is quite marked. I've replaced the roof and got the knack of doing seals etc. so I thought things such as the targa hoop and door cards should be within my capabilities as long as I can find the same stuff D&C would use. Oh and black rivets hehe

I think Martin at Martrim bought a whole load of materials from TVR so may have some in stock.

confused My Tuscan is all leather, there no Alcantara in the car. A bit on Lamonta is it called...the furry stuff.

Or are you talking about the Chim ??? But I know what you mean about the pattern effect in the Alcantara, the small amount of leather in the seats is perforated.

Editted 'cos I'm an idiot...I was getting mixed up with the "Ambala" that my Chim seats are made ... although I still think my Tuscan is Lamonta rather than Alcantra.. but my memory is definitely going...put it down to old age. biggrin

HRG, speak to a company called Boyriven http://www.boyriven.co.uk/

I had my material from them when I did my door cards , and also made the gear and handbrake gaiters.

thumbup

But it should be green with cream, not cream with green wink

Did you make up the gaiters etc yourself? How so if so?

Cream, cream???? that's "doeskin" !!!!!

I did make the gaiters, with this thing called a "sewing machine"! A trimmer I am not, but they weren't too difficult.

Is it more or less tricky than replacing a roof if you've done one?

Are you talking about the door cards or the gaiters?

Haven't done a hood yet , but I would say easier.

Either really, having looked at the Tams at Chatsworth I thought the Alcantara really bought the interior up to date yet still looked classy. I quite liked the little boots around the control stalks that they wear. paperbag
