Anyone know where the fuse is for the original pioneer. The head and CD unit is dead all of a sudden, and I can't seem to find the fuse that runs it.

I assume its a fuse as I wouldn't think the head unit supplies power to the boot CD unit?

I posted this bit from the manual for my 4.2 and it may help you

Fuse No. Description Size
1 Engine Fan (Relay 1) 25A
2 Main Beam 20A
3 Engine Fan (Relay 1) & horn 25A
4 Sidelights, fog lamps & hazards 15A
5 Heated Rear Window 25A
6 Door control unit & Immobiliser 15A
7 Boot lock, pass door lock, radio 15A
8 Injectors, alarm/immobiliser 10A
9 Engine Management 10A
10 Right Hand window 20A
11 Left hand window 20A
12 Speedo, lights, dim dip, dash, ECU 10A
13 Starter, drivers door lock 20A
14 Heater Control 10A
15 Indicators, Reverse, Brake 20A
16 Wipers & Mirrors 25A
17 Ignition Coils 25A
18 Heater Fans 25A
19 Fuel Pump & Lambda heaters 15A
20 Master Ignition 15A
21 Dip Beam 20A

So assuming that your boot lock etc works, its the fuse at the rear of the head unit. Mine died soon after I picked up my cerb and had a nice new alpine ipod head unit fitted instead.

Just so you know, the stereo connector is from an old Defender but the pins are used differently - I had mine switched over to an ISO connector and made a note of which cable was which, if that'd help anyone...

Here you go - the wiring details...

Red Battery
Green Ignition
Grey Speaker FR+
Grey / Black Speaker FR-
Green Speaker FL+
Green / Black Speaker FL-

Red / White Illumination
Black Earth
Green / Black Speaker RL-
Green / Red Speaker RL+
Grey / Red Speaker RR+
Grey / Black Speaker RR-

I had mine done by a local auto electrician - it took 10 mins and cost me a tenner. Having an ISO lead instead of the crappy old Landy one means that you plug pretty much anything you like into it in with absolute ease /not having to try and find the right adapter etc - 100% pure win

If you cant find I had the same problem and mine was wired directly to the battery with a fuse holder tucked to the right of the battery and hard to find?
