Am I being anal about Dealers?
Discussion
Quick rant about dealers....no name but main dealer, sounds like a fruit near a big airport in london
Wife X5 needs service and some bits doing. Booked in a good few weeks ago with a view to get a courtesy car that will fit Baby Seat + Pram (ie 3 series). I ring a week before the drop off day to make sure everything on track. All good so far.
Turn up, no booking and no car! They only had a Mini as all other cars out! Baby seat and pram wouldn't fit in Mini. Not a happy bunny. Reschedule for following week as need a car for wife to ferry Junior to classes/nursery. As good will gesture, chap organises a home pick up at 8am and 3 series. Slightly happy.
Its now half 9, I call dealer and drop was booked for 11am! Where did I go wrong here?
Is this the norm or am I being anal? Can anybody else recommend a BMW Dealer around Heathrow for Service and some Bodywork bits?

Birds in Iver have done a great job on 4 very different cars (E30 325, E46 M3, 123d, E39 540) for me, I would recommend them highly. They are not considered to be a main dealer any more but have the set-up you would hope to find at one! (Cost isn't much less but all has worked out well for my cars so far)
There's Stratstone Maidenhead. I can only comment on their parts department as that's all that I've used, and they have been efficient and professional.
Having worked in dealerships, the service advisor should ask if there are timing issues for collection. If there aren't any, 'before 11am' is typical as it allows them to do the early pickups on the way in to work, droip them off and then get out to the second round of collections.

I wouldn't use Birds, their prices are pretty much the same as a main dealer so why bother. I'm speaking from personal experience.
True, as previously mentioned, prices are similar at Birds. But levels of service, communication, honesty, care and efficiency (in my own personal experience) are very high at Birds and RUBBISH at just about every Main Delaership, for every make of car, I have been to anywhere, ever.I have very good things indeed to say about Munich Legends too, but the enquiry was for somewhere near Heathrow.
Why bother? Well I don't know about you, but as an obsessive, I just can't bear doing anything twice (hence only one child - joke). When I book a car in for work I like to have that work done, properly and completely - once - it is SUCH a pain in the butt to collect, drive away and have to book in again because it is not fixed properly.
For BMWs, Birds and Munich Legends are the only two places that have achieved this (simple) goal for my cars. I am grateful for that too, hence the recommendation.
Arite bud!?
I thought T would have told you about my experience with this dealer how could you even think of going there! They are the same bunch of t
ts that ruined 2 of my alloys and dented my car door too - later denying anything to do with it! STAY WELL AWAY!
If you want main dealer you need to be speaking to Sytner High Wycombe (sounds far but isnt that far from where I am). They provide courtesy cars too - we had a new X5 whilst ours was in there a few months back...
They are currently price matching independents to - drop me an email if you want more details...

and if its already in there phone them now and tell them you dont want the car washed otherwise they'll run the f
kin car through a car wash and it will come out with swirl marks like you've never seen before!
If they say they handwash, its a lie!

You're right about Sytner High Wycombe washing the car too - they spilled brake fluid on my M3 and I had to take it away from them and go to a proper valet-clean place before they did any more damage!
