Knowing it was going to be bbq weather this weekend, I fancied something different to the normal sausages and chicken legs, so asked the wife to get some ribs.

I've never cooked them before, but didn't realise that you don't actually barbecue them. Every recipe we found told us to bake them over 2 hours.

So we followed this recipe: http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/food-and-d...

At the end of the process, the baking tray (protected with foil) was a chargrilled mess, and it looked like the ribs had suffered a similar fate.

But on closer inspection, succulent meat inside - a real feast. We'll do this again, especially as the ribs (enough for family of 4) were £3. Extremely tasty thumbup

Glad you like ribs biggrin however, that recipe looks way too hot, and way too short a cooking time. If you're going to do them in the oven I do them for 3.5hrs at 85 degrees C, then finish on the grill.

also, Brits don't BBQ...they grill. Badly, in general. Real BBQ is about indirect heat, lid on, long cooking time (4 hrs for ribs, with hourly basting!)

check out barbecueweb.com for some good youtube videos of how to do different BBQ.
