Just spotted this, the one off lightweight P115 BRM used by Jackie Stewart in 1967 with that incredibly complex H16 engine. The other BRM team drivers used the P83 version of the car, same engine but heavier. It's a runner too. POA I bet it'll have 6 "0"s in it.

They really aren't. The BRM was an interesting engineering exercise but the reliability aspect as well as the weight renders it an uncompetitive proposition, especially trying to fit it in the confines of a road car. That's before we even get tho the thermal inefficiencies of the unit.

That's because they are all of the 1950s 1.5 litre supercharged V-16 BRM not the 1967 3 litre non-blown H-16. There are no H-16 you tube videos.

Is there one of these in the donnington museum or is that the V-16?

My grandfather has a piston in his garage from a 1950's F1 engine, its very small I cant remember what engine it was from now.

Oh and those v16 pistons would indeed by tiny: the whole engine is just 1.5 litres!

Yeah it seems in hindsight a good rare upload, but starting up and rolling out is all well and good, but it's at full tilt that matters!
