Range Rover Classic Handling
Discussion
Is perhaps a bit better that at first thought - going down a local A road today a lady in a Frontera pulled up at a stop sign to my left, looked at me and then pulled out right in front of me leaving me about 50 yards or less to do something.
Without any chance of stopping I had the choice of piling into her drivers door ( and at 55 or so MPH probably killing her) so I made a lunge to go round the front of her. Almost made it, but even when I was right in front of her she didn't stop and hit my car just behind the rear wheel.
The stupid 'so and so' then had the effrontery to suggest that it was my fault!!!!!
Although there was a HUGE amount of body roll the old girl pretty much went where she was pointed and I stopped shaking about two hours later.
Rear panel needs beating out and resprayed but as she's determined to put it through her insurance I guess I'll be driving a scruffy Rangie for a while

They do handle quite well. Sadly most of the headline tests are done with a hidden agenda to make them do awful things {find a copy of the 5th gear test for example, and see them swerve one way then yank on full lock the other way and hit the brakes hard just as it levels out).
You mean thisGlad you are ok and that you seem to have got a result.
Yes they can handle very very well in the right hands. My uncle used to (many years back, 70's) run the officials between rally sections in a 3.5 RR. He used to run similar times on the stages as the full blown rally cars. There's a pic somewhere of him going sideways with only 3 wheels on the ground.

A chunky Scorpion anti roll bar on the back will work wonders in cutting out that Classic role.
