*yawn* what's it worth? *yawn*
Discussion
Evening All,
An opportunity might be about to come my way which would mean my Elise has to go in about August time, so I was hoping for a sensible idea on price. As follows:
97 S1 (all the nice light early bits, but with all the problems sorted)
LRG with cream leather
PTP 170 kit with verniers, running brilliantly at about 160bhp, love it!
Nitron NTRs (325/400)
New Advans all round
S2 wiper upgrade
HIDs
Grey PRT, plus converted from high rail to low rail
Nice new Sony headset
New discs all round with Pagid Blues
Braided hoses
42k miles, totally reliable, HPI clear, fully taxed this month
FSH, to be fully C serviced this week with new water pump, cam belt, tensioner, plugs etc
Full set up and geo by Lotus Power
Cosmetically 8 out of 10 (nice but some stone chips etc)
Lots of other stuff which I can't remember, but you get the picture. I have spent lots of money getting it right and I don't want to sell it, but that's life eh?
So, what's it worth?
TIA
Tom.

I agree. I've been here before with an Elan Sprint, a 4.2 E-Type etc etc - it's too soon to sell this car really so I will hang on to it unless I can get a good/fair price to be honest.
Just remembered I've had EP toe links fitted to it as well - I've spent a chuffing fortune on this car!

well good examples of the more sought after S160's are only selling for £12.5 K, so a standard S1 is going to be a fair bit less.
I the fact the car has been modified to such a degree could put people off - as people wont have the reassurance that the mods were performed to a high standard.
£8.5k seems to be a fair offer - as long as you are not in a rush to sell.

Has it got an emerald?
It's a good spec for what it is, but I think you'll do well to get more than £9k. If a buyer's looking at it for road use only then it's a good package and good to go. For someone who's wanting to track it regularly they're looking at doing a few more bits that could comfortably run to another £2-3k (oil cooler, *proper* nitrons, uprated toe-links, harness bar, harnesses etc.)
For reference I sold a car with more comprehensive spec than that for ~£11k last August.

It's not an out and out track weapon, and it's pretty standard to look at as I didn't want it to look loud at all. It's specced with days like today in mind - daily commute to work followed by an evening on track at Donington running faultlessly, then back in the car to head off to a few work meetings tomorrow morning. It's not running Randy-spec Nitrons with A048s and reverie seats and 6-point harnesses because it would become a track-only car at that point. It'll still run 110 through Craners even on the Neovas so it's no slouch. It's meant to be bulletproof and enjoyable on track, not to be the fastest thing out there (don't understand that obsession). With a harness bar and some 888s it would be very handy indeed on track though and still usable as a weekend car.
All work has been done by the Edwards guys, so people who know their onions should be happy that it's been done very well.
That's the idea, anyway. Sounds like that might not appeal to everyone!
No Emerald as it's running on a standalone EFI ecu which works very well.
Thanks for the input folks. Realistically, if I am looking at sub-£9k for it then I will just keep it. I love it too much to sell cheap. SEOT I guess!
