Wondering whether the Ford PH community can come to the aid of my mates wife. Her 1.25 Zetec Fiesta has lunched itself on the M6 - No coolant and the car has eventually ground to a halt. A swift compression test has shown that all 4 cylinders are toast - not pumping up at all. Trying to source a replacement SH motor in the West Mids area, but would be prepared to travel for a SH unit with pedigree/known FSH.

Can anybody assist with either an engine or recommended Breakers.

Also - for any of the tame technicians that frequent PH - Is the unit backward compatible - i.e her car is a 51-plate. Obviously the same vintage unit is best - but is there anything significant to watch out for in a swap? Could an older unit be used (1.25 intro'd at 98MY?) I'm fairly familiar with Puma's - would I be right in thinking it must a digital dash compatible unit/ECU?

Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Cheers.

G.

Engine code offf front face of bloack is "DHF" Prefix - Does this mean any engine starting with code "DH" could be swapped in?

A few sellers on Fleabay have indicated they have "DH" coded engines.

Can anyone shed any light on the subject?
