"Unmarked" Police car M1/M62 area - what was it?

Bit of a vague one I'm afraid but I saw an "unmarked" police can at a distance today but didn't get chance to suss out what it actually was. I was hoping someone else might have seen it because not knowing what car it was is annoying me.
It was heading south on the M1 at about 19:15 tonight and went past the junction with the M62 with it's very low profile blue lights flashing away on the roof and rear end. It looked quite stealth apart from the lights on the roof but they would be hard to spot if they weren't on IMO.
It was white but had black or dark grey bumpers and looked a little bit like an Audi Allroad from a distance. I also thought it might be a Volvo XC70 but having looked at pics since it looked a bit less exciting.
Has anyone else here seen it around? Any idea what it might be based on my pathetic ramblings?
