Evening, I've a '53 E46 330d Touring. It's got a problem with the screen wash, when I pull the wash/wipe lever just a dribble of water makes it onto the screen, through both the left/right nozzle. I've checked the screen wash level(fine, but re-filled it anyway),the headlight washer works correctly.

Any suggestions?

Ta,

Block in the feed from tank to pump.
Remove the tank (2 nuts) and give it a thorough clean out.

Yes i know it sounds daft but check connections on the underside of the bonnet first...and then the rest of the pipe for a leak that will reduce the water pressure before checking the motor and blockages.

Get a pin and clean out the nozzle jets.

and then spend 3 weeks trying to get them realigned because you inadvertantly moved them - voice of experience here. frown

Had a look, and there are two pumps connected to the water tank, one for the screen other for the lights. I think it's a pressure issue rather than the nozzles being blocked, as the right volume of water is coming out but not squirting far enough.
I'll have a good delve tonight with my Halfords tool set, how hard can it be? whistle

When I need to clean the muck from screen jets, I nip a strand from a wire brush, this is both thin and firm enough to clean the nozzle without moving it's position. Done it for years, works every time. wink

Thanks for all the tips. It was a load of gunk in the little pull out filters, a quick blast from the jet washer cleared them. Popped it all back, and working nicely...Cheers!
