Going to Purchase Tuscan April/May What Model?
Discussion
May get a better (more) reply's on the tuscan forum, for 35K you should be looking at a tuscan S, by April next year there should be some available at this sort of price, buy the latest you can afford and if it's your first TVR then I would say buy from a dealer, it gives you some degree of security and there is a lot to look out for if your a first time buyer.
There is a Tuscan check list available from TSS (see this thread www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=59360&f=5&h=0&hw=check+list) which I used when purchasing mine. Excellent document to have in your pocket whn you go and have a look at one.
Happy hunting.

Hi All,
Was sent to this forum by a TVR owner, I'm going to buy a Tuscan around April Time. I have 35k ish to spend. whats the best model to get and what do I need to look out for. Any help would be appreciated. Also would you go private or from a dealer.
Regards RINNS
I'm selling my TuscanS in April?
Hi rinns,
It looks like this will be your first TVR. I bought my first one two and a half years ago - no regrets. But it took me a long time to assylimate all the information - the best information is to make sure you go with your eyes wide open. There's lots of information on here and on the Tuscan Owners group on Yahoo. The buyers guide is a handy collection of all that information in one place.
As for where to buy from - if it's your first I would buy from a dealer as I think buying privately you really need to know your onions. A third option might be to hire an "expert" to find a car for you.
Meeting some owners is another suggestion - either at a local club meet or some of the meetings arranged here (at Virginia Water for example) or down at pubman's pub (near Virginia Water) - some Tuscans and owners are getting together next on the 18/1/04 for lunch.
As for which model - I think the first thing to decide is whether you like the look of the car with the spoiler at the back and the different rear light arrangement (the S) or whether you like the original, untainted beautiful version
Next you can decide whether you want 360 or 380/390/400 bhp - if that makes a difference, they're all bl**dy fast!
Have fun!
Cheers,
Andy.
