1.8 TDDI (lynx engine) cambelt query
Discussion
Currently selling a 2001 Fiesta 1.8TD with the TDDI engine as used in the Focus. it's the one with only a single cambelt from the injector pump to the cam, and a chain cassette from the crank to the pump.
I've no history of the belt being done and it's done 91k. I hear 100k is the change date. I can get a genuine belt through work for not a lot of money, and have done belts on other cars before no problems.
It looks really easy on this one, like I wouldn't even have to jack it up! Is it that easy, or will I find timing issues and disturb the electrical diesel pump etc? Would I need special tools?
I'm thinking a new belt might improve the value of the car for a couple of hours' work, as it'd make the car more desirable.

i had a fiesta like this 2000 1.8TDdi the change is 100k, mine had done 121,000 miles when i picked it up at two and a half years old, and still going strong at 162,000 when we sold it, i did get a cambelt changed by my cousin and he said it was no real trouble. Also he told me if it broke it wouldnt ruin the engine on this particular engine.
