Chill... sit back and have a fag wink

I changed a fuel pump on the Diablo last week - it's not rocket science smile Ditto - those fuel lines are just lengths of hose held on by jubilee clips. Ought to be very straightforward to rectify smile

the fuel lines seem to go through the body somewhere on to braided hoses near the water bottle but wondering if anyone has ever changed them as doesn't seem to be much room in there and looks very tight. Not as simple as it looks I don't think! I want to know if its a common fault before I go boom!! Cheers

Assuming it's the same as the Diablo (which it probably is) then the hoses come off the back of the 2 fuel rails as braided hoses then, as you say, go through the side panel beneath the water header tank into 2 Fuel Filters(iirc) the lines are then rubber coming from these, drop down behind the fuel tank and under it, to the 2 fuel pumps.

The pumps ought not to allow fuel to come through from the fuel tank (mine didn't at least) so the only 'leaking' fuel will be from the rail if you detach a hose from a pump.

My guess would be:

  • Remove water header tank.
  • Remove Fuel hose at the fuel pump (through a barely adequate panel beneath the car!) let it drain.
  • Go back to the top of the car and remove the hose from the filter.
  • Find a clever way to attach the new hose to this end of the old hose and then pull it all through from the bottom
  • Reattach everything smile

I know that's easier said than done and also easier on the Diablo as there are fewer panels covering everything!

...or Call a mechanic in to do it! biglaugh

Mandeep: smile hahaha! Hell no! It was a Bosch pump! tongue out The original Webers are unobtainable.

FWIW the Bosch part is: 0.580.464.070

iirc the stats on it are:

12v
3 Bar
130 L/Hr
~2.25 L/minute

Oh yeah - As a bonus it also cost less than 1/4 of the obsolete part!
