100 years ago my favourite flight sims were Jetfighter 2 (ran beautifully on a 386) and Aces over Europe (ran beautifully on a 486). It was great. Take off, toast a few Jerries, then home for tea and medals.
But then it all got too difficult. Neither game worked in Windows, game makers became obsessed with graphics and frankly it all got too damn hard. Simpo Two got rather tired of hitting the silk, not least because game makers never seemed to add the 'look up' function which IIRC was F5 in AOE.
So my question is this. Is there a simple flight sim that works in XP where I can, well, take off in my trusty Spitfire, give Jerry a good hiding and get back to base in time for the Squadron party?

IL-2 Sturmovic is highly recommended and is supposed to be very easy to get into, but still has the depth there when you're ready for it all.
