Hi guys and Gals this is my first post on ph but I have been a long term reader. I have just purchased an n reg starlet turbo (more on impulse than anything). The car has done 106k km's with full service history and it has just had a new exede clutch as the old one was slipping quite badly. Apart from that as far as I can tell the car is bog standard apart from a turbo timer that is. I would greatly appreciate any knowledge wisdom or tuning tips that you all have to offer as I would like to push this and turn it into quite a monster (money and missus permitting). Having done some searching there doesn't seem to be a definitive tuners guide, does such a thing exist? I look forward to your replies and have my many thanks in advance.

There used to be a good club back when I had mine, but it seems to have disappeared now.

A quick bit of googling has revealed this site:

http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/

Which might be good for advice on where to find parts and stuff. I didn't really have any issues with mine which was pretty heavily modified when I bought it, apart from the diaphram on the dump valve tearing on an almost monthly basis, probably says something about the amount of boost it was running.

Going back a few years now, but it had an induction kit, powerflow exhaust, some cam-work and other gubbins that I was told about when I bought it and quickly forgot (no help to you I know), in low-boost mode it was pushing out about the power a standard one would in high-boost (130bhp I seem to recall) and the high boost mode was probably good for about 180bhp. A mate then bought it off me and supposedly had it dynoed at 200bhp, but I'm not sure I believed him.

I loved it though, the fact that 2nd gear was good for around 70mph and I managed to give an Elise driver a fright away from the lights once, he definitely wasn't expecting me to hang with him and then start to pull away.
