My father has been offered a 1995 316 Coupé (Auto) which I believe is an E36.

It has 50,000 miles and one owner from new, though currently doesn't have an MOT or Tax. Current owner is planning to MOT and tax it - but how much do we think it is worth? I estimated approx £500 with T&T?

Also, any inherent problems with this particular car/engine? I've no further details than that, unfortunately.

That price seems only fair. Though the 316 isn't the best to drive, it's very underpowered with poor fuel consumption. If you can stretch to a 318is go for it.

Just looked up the specs on Parkers and it has a wheezy 102bhp... almost 14 seconds to 60 as well!! It's only as a run-around car fortunately so that shouldn't be too much of a hassle, he has an S-Type to drive when he needs to look smart!
