Do you want a car to pose in, or a car to drive?

Fezza for the former, Lambo for the latter.

The reason to mention the insurance aspect is i own a body shop & people turn up with their car for a quote for minor damage .Say painting a wing,
I them point out that they are on a 2K excess on the claim, Being under the old fart age of 40 insurance company's will charge (YOUNG) drivers a fortune one way or another...

Was trying to decide between the same two this time last year.

After much thought, I went for a G, and I can safely say I made the right choice.

Ferrari's are beautiful etc, but Lambo's, well they're just bloody awesome!!

Yes of course. As we all know Ferraris are all sh*t and lambos are far superior.

True, Gallardos at £60k are not the best of examples and i would predict costly maintenence costs as the car will be out of warranty and they do not offer a used car warranty like Porsche or Ferraris "Power" Warranty. Not many Lambo/Ferrari specialists in Scotland so you would be paying Lambo Edinburgh/Graypaul Ferrari servicing costs which run into £'s.

There is a chap Marco? that owns TopGear Specialist Cars in West Lothian that could maybe look after it.

In my opinion? The Lambo is quicker, superior build quality, handles better, looks better and can be used on the daily commute if you can handle an average 12-14mpg. (4WD also a bonus with the weather we have up North)

The 360 came out in 1999, the Gallardo 2004......the Gallardo should be a better car overall. Oh yes, and you get nice Audi A3 switchgear! wink

Small move off-piste.... How much do you think you need to pay out for a Gallardo to get a good one? I know it's difficult but if I want one to use every day (except shopping) and go to South of France a couple of times a year what year/price would buy me one that could handle that without breaking down/needing work?

Its Carlo at Topgear cars. Very good to deal with.

He sells and services F-cars and Lambos along with other fast cars.

Thats the point though, its the Audi influence that makes this car superior to any other junior supercar on the market. Everything seems to work as well as it would in an Audi which was un-heard of with older Lamborghinis. However, door handles and petrol caps coming off in your hands is due to the Italian influence smile

I spent a few weeks with a Friends Gallardo using it for my daily commute and it was faultless - i was very impressed with how well it was put together - I felt sick when going back into my C4S.

I do think that out of warranty cars will cost you a packet on servicing and wear & tear items if you do 10k miles a year. Maybe call "Carlo" at Top Gear Specialist cars and ask for a cost on servicing, brakes and discs, clutch's etc, etc.
