A Sports 2000 had a bigish off at oulton testing today through shelloils. Was the driver ok? I believe I know his name from photo's my brother took of him going round before his off but didn't want to post his name on PH.

Hope he is okay. Went off right in front of me.

PW

I was that driver and I'm pleased to report I'm now fine.
Complete brake failure on entry to Shell Oils and a trip over and through 2 tyre walls. Or so I'm told as I was out cold .... woke up in ambulance en route to hospital.
Next day none the worse bar a bit of a headache.
Fortunately I was wearing a HANS device so not even a hint of whiplash.

When I eventually collected the car from Oulton the circuit staff spoke of video footage from a following Caterham. If that is you might you make contact or send it on as I'd like to better understand the impact in advance of commencing the repairs. (Fry1234@btinternet.com)

Thanks for your concern, I'm pleased to report a happy - if expensive - ending to the tale.

Cheers
Mike

Mike,

good news, looked nasty but could of been a lot worse I suppose in that we weren't going full chat as a red flag was about to come out for the car in the gravel at cascades. (or you could of done it at druids or lodge...)

I did wonder what the hell had happened, I thought throttle stuck as it almost looks like you speed up, but probably exaggerated from me braking.

Will sort it out next day or so. If your happy with it I'll stick it on my youtube account www.youtube.com/user/plwls

Plenty of me crashing so you'll be in good company.
