Scooby Question - Please help!

Looking at a classic scooby that has had an engine change to a legacy motor, have been told that its more powerful 260bhp to 280 bhp, but the legacy is twin turbo and the impreza has single turbo - Is the engine the same and the turbos account for the power increase or not?

It's pretty easy to get s decent standard classic (with original engine) and get a reliable 270-ish bhp without having to worry about whether or not the engine change is going to fail!

Cheers but pretty sure the new engine is good - Need to know if there is a difference in the performance of the engine itself rather than because of the turbos?

If you want to modify for big power then a single is better - what the twins do is give a wider spread of power/torque, for example my Legacy makes over 80% of peak torque from 2000 to 6500 rpm. The single turbos often have a stronger feeling mid-range but less low down and top end power.

Just read the spec sheet through in more detail and found the discs have been redrilled as they are from a newer model (5x100 to 5x112 pcd) and flywheel has been re-faced twice and is don to 5kg.

I'm probably wrong but I didn't think this would be good on the discs and flywheel lightening wasn't normally done by re-facing it (not how we had the balancing done on some stuff a while ago)

Anyone let me know if these are normal mods or should I steer clear?
