Has anyone got a copy of the diagnostic software they could email me -suitable for use with my '96 V8 with later 4.5 ECU (or perhaps just the chip?)

I downloaded the older one from Dave Hinns site the other day but tI can't get it to run on my desktop. Unfortunately, now I can't seem to download anything from his site so I can't even try the other version.

Many thankswavey

Theres very little difference between the two. DO you mean it wont run, or wont connect. If it won't connect, then I suspect something is wrong with your PC/Cable/Configuration. Are you using the serial port and a standard cable?
This always works for me.......Connect to the ECU and start the Diags, hit the Start button so the ignition is live and the immobilers hasn't kicked in. Now go into device manager and delete/remove the Com1 port. Then click on Scan for Hardware changes, it 're-finds' the com port, and hopefully you should be able to connect. If that doesn't work........I dunno, sorry smile

Jensen,

I've been trying to get the software to run on my desktop, without being connected to the ECU - but it won't.

Are you saying that it won't run unless plugged in to the ECU?

In that case I'll try to get it on the old laptop I have bought and plug it in (not that easy without a CD drive, Winzip or a USB port)smash

No it should run fine, it will just give an error message that it's not connected. Have another go downloading the software - good luck.
