what the different from a cheap relay and the bosh relay

what the different from a cheap relay and the bosh relay that TVR used. and what would you do if you find out a garage have fitted a cheap relay and caused a problem with a wiring loom.

I would imagine it uses cheaper internal parts!! Although I know some have/may out last the bosch ones..

Its a bloody mine field if you ask me and luck of the draw. As some cheaper ones probably use the exact same parts as the the more well known Labeled ones and some dont

They are all pretty much a standard packaging... The bosch FI relays have a diode and are twin make/break.

There are other (less common) relays where the coil goes across adjacent pins rather than opposed ones - inserting one of these would cause problems...

buy the bosch, I found out to my cost when I bought a cheap one once, the next day my battery was flat, In theory they worked the same but the internals are different and hence did not disconnect the power supply when I turned the car off. All this is in the bible, but read it all not just half the paragraph as I did.

I suspect you bought a single pole changeover relay rather than a twin pole single throw relay. The changeover relay would have left the lambda sensor heaters powered when it was 'off', so a few hours later your battery is flat.
