Hi

I have a 4.25 mechanical system I am putting in a S1 Exige just looking for some advice on the best position to mount the bottle. I still want to take passengers so not keen on putting it in front of the passenger seat.
There was one at the Lotus show at Donny with the bottle in the boot. If anyone knows the owner or he is on this forum any chance of some pics or help.

Thanks

Paul

I haven't seen any in the boot before, most try to keep the weight in the centre of the car so wouldn't be keen on hanging weight out over the back.

Could be worth speaking to Russell at Lotus Sport about it, he would have seen more examples of it, you can get him on 01953 608507

Surely you want the extinguisher somewhere that wont be crushed or knocked off in a crash? If you put it in the boot and the car sustains even relatively light rear-end damage in a crash, you'll quite possibly smash the bottle to pieces before you ever have a chance to use it.

Could you fit a small bottle in the space behind the seats (where the shelf is on the S2)?

hes on about a 4.25 bottle - a bigger track spec jobbie, not a handheld ...so I guess it must be a race car

most places I've seen them is on the foot plate chassis cross member in front of the passenger seat.

fixed on the inderside of the seat

but not sure if this is the same size as the one you want to fit.
or this size as fitted to the Exige 260 cup cars

Its the same size as the one in the bottom picture.
I understand what you are saying about the weight in the back. The car is used for track days and road use so I did not really want to compromise the passenger area.
