The "new and improved" version looks the same as mine except for the colour. What's yours like? Has mine been upgraded already or are they all like it?

The big round one is the std SD1 pot and cr#p the smaller one is std range rover and far superior, also these parts are available from Lucas directly so saving a bit of cash over the rover dealer.

Matt,

Have you got any contact details to source these direct from Lucas?

Well I have found that the V12 Jag throttle pot adaptor does fit the V8 (one screw doesn't quite line up - but 2 hold it fine)

www.davidmanners.co.uk/viewfull.asp?id=1189420

and is less than £20 (makes the £200+ conversion kit from RPI seem a touch pricey!!).

I did need to make an adaptor to connect the spindles together, not too tricky though.

Anyway I have a secondhand newer throttle pot, although I was told it was faulty, which I was using to fit the modification. I thought I would test it and found that it had a resistance of 5 Mohm whereas the original one was 5 Kohm. I couldn't adjust it below .7v (should be around .3v).

Are the later throttle pots a different value?

Now all I need to do is find a good throttle pot and I have saved over £100

Are the throttle pots prone to wair and going faulty??
Is there any advantage changing the pot, ie throttle responce or will a RR session find these kind of probs out for you?

Cheers
