Help anyone,

Bought my 5.0 Chimaera about 3 weeks ago and all was well. I've recently noticed that in cold weather or when i take the top off the door mechanism starts making a "tap tap tap" sound (like a soleniod switching or something).

This all started happening when i tried to take the top down for the first time. It doesn't do it all the time, only intermittently. It also does it when i go over hard bumps.

What's going on!!

Everything else on the car is fine.

As "I am to electrics" what "Freddy Cruger is to Baby-sitting", i shan't be poking my Screw-driver anywhere near.

Please help!

Way, way long shot Bandit, but could something be resting on the central locking button - elbow when driving?
Won't explain why it happens when you take the roof of though.

I'll get me coat.

Not such a stupid idea Mark. I have done it a few times. Maybe with the hood down you adopt a more laid-back cruising mode with your arm in the rest position looking for shop windows

The tapping is probably coming from the central locking relays by the battery, likely cause is the adjustment of the door switches, check that the little rubber pads aren't missing from the bottom of the doors, and that they switches are not just triping as the car moves.
