Just bought a s/h 2006 Octavia.

Apparently there is a way to program the remote to unlock all doors or just the drivers door and it would seem that the previous owner had it set to unlock the drivers door only.

The tech guy at the Ford garage where we got it from said that you can normally re-program the key yourself by putting it in the ignition and pressing buttons in a set order, but he only knew how to do Fords.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Thanks!!!

If your car has the full height highline trip computer then go into the convience menu and turn off single door unlocking.

If it does not, then you will have to get a dealer or someone with VAGCOM to do it for you.

I trust your aware that you can press the button on the remote twice, a bit like double clicking a mouse, to unlock all doors when its in single-unlock mode?

ETA - Highline looks like this http://www.autoquake.com/archive/11605-RF58PZX/cac... and the standard computer looks like this http://www.autoquake.com/archive/12114-YG06TPY/cac...

My A4 (04) used to do the above, but I did something (full highline) and it turned off, there is no menu system on my model? so cannot re activate?

Anyone have any ideas?

Not sure about the A4. The info I posted above only applies to Golf MK5 based cars as far as I know.

I just used a Carista OBD2 dongle with Carista software to switch off double click unlocking on a 2006 Skoda Octavia and it took less than 2 minutes. It is a free option under Customisation. The Skoda dealer said they only did it for free for newer models, which you can access through the dashboard menu and the charge for older models would be 1 hour’s labour at over £70.

Originally the car did have central locking but not remote locking. After fitting one of the remote locking kits found on eBay, I discovered that double clicking did not work, only single clicking to open the driver's door. I did not know if deactivating double-clicking would solve the problem for all doors, but it does.
