Milton Keynes A&E....Not the most pleasant night ever
Discussion
Before i begin, i do realise that they are never going to be the nicest places on earth, but even so....
Nor, i should add, is this is any way a rant at the staff. They were, without exception, polite, chatty, informative and very pleasant. Excepting of course, the receptionists.
So...
Half 5 last night, i get the phone call saying that the fiancee has been ill all day and has got to go into hospital, but there was no room at the nearest one- Torquay, where she was with work. So, into the car, pick up dad, drive to Torquay from Milton Keynes, pick her up, straight back into the car, dad drives mine home back to MK, i drive straight to casualty in hers.
Wait for 10 minutes to get booked in, and wait 45 mins to be seen by triage nurse.
Should add here that the problem is losing blood from pretty much everywhere.
From triage, straight into the treatment area, where luckily, they managed to find us a bed in a room, rather than the corridor. So, its now 2am, im tired, more than a little worried, and on a short fuse. Fiancee laying on the bed, bleeding a great deal through nose, mouth, and er, most other bits with a hole in.
Then, it starts. Outside in the corridor, they place 2 heroin addicts, and 2 police officers to look after them. It starts with them talking, then shouting abuse at each other, then the staff, then the police, then passing out again.
This cycle is repeated for 3 hours, the level of noise and abuse WAY beyond what you should ever have to expect in the line of work. Then, the first of the dross decides it doesnt want to be there (despite the fact that they are both under arrest, have both been in custody and then taken to A&E as the police were worried about the state of them, all due to smoking a load of "bad" drugs, then ramming their car into a tree). So, there is a struggle in the corridor, shouting, swearing and then the kind soul spits into the room we are in.
The first police officer apologises to us-no worries there, its not your problem, but appreciated nonetheless- at which point the fiancee is woken by the commotion, asks what is going on, just in time to see the first smack head walk straight into the doorframe and fall over.
A young baby has now been screaming-and screaming, and screaming- for an hour, but his parents will have to wait a little longer as another one of the smackheads has been wheeled in-overdose of "bad" heroin again, and as it turns out, a friend of the other 2. So, he has 6 members of staff dealing with him, whilst the baby waits, the old lady opposite waits, and my fiancee waits.
We then have another commotion, as the first 2 want to go out and have a ciggie. No, says officer 1, more commotion, yes says officer 2. I am walking past to get a drink and nip out for a fag, so smackie no 1 says: Yeah, mate, give me a fag.
f
k off. I only want 1 fag mate. GO f
k yourself you piece of s
t.
Out i go, light the fag, and get a tap on the shoulder......Who is it, why, its officer 1.
Excuse me sir, you cant talk to people like that.
Erm, excuse me?
You cant swear like that, its offensive to the individual.
Sorry?
You heard me
I did, and i assumed you were joking.
No, any more and you will be going in.
Pardon.
You heard, cut it out.
Havent you been sat for 4 hours with a pair of smack heads who have done nothing but cause grief, be abusive to staff, and have indeed been spitting in an area where ill people are getting treatment?
And?
No disreprect meant, but i am here with my fiancee, who is seriously unwell, and to be blunt, i dont want to converse in any way with a low life smack head, who has already broken at least 2 laws today.
Are you the judge then?
No, no. If i was the judge, i would pump the pair of them full of drain cleaner, then wisk them straight down to the incinerator and be done with it.
Officer 1 leaves.
Back inside, smack head 3 had come round, and when asked if he knows where he is, replies world war 1 as people are in uniform. He then urinates in the corridor in front of a young woman and her child.
My other half is still there, no nearer knowing what is wrong with her, i cant be there now as she has been admitted and its not visiting time. I have only had fags and coffee for the last 22 hours, and all is well.
I apologise for the long post, but can someone please explain to me why the f
k a valuable resource is wasted dealing with these people? Again, i would reiterate that the staff were superb, but the fact is (to me at least) that the dross got itself in that state, its taken various nurses and doctors a lot of time and no doubt money to sort. At the same time, i would rather like to think that a young child would be found a bed as a priority over these low lifes. There is also the matter of 2 police officers being sat there for nearly 7 hours to keep watch.
Nurse, take the temperature of my piss. Its well above boiling point.

On another note, well done for giving the smackheads some s

How about a letter to the local Police Station. copied to your MP, your local councillor, and the head of the Hospital.
1. The A&E staff could always do with some praise. Not a job I'd ever fancy.
2. The copper should have used some tact and discretion.
3. You're right.... skagheads should be bottom of the pile for treatment. Sorry to all the PH pro drug users, but that's they way it is.

I would plough the lot in, i really would.
If an animal was in that state, you would have it put down
I can see the copper's point: you weren't improving the situation by reacting to the scrote. Maybe he just used talking to you as an excuse to get away from them for a minute?
Also, I'll bet he kicked himself when you suggested drain cleaner. There must be tons of the stuff at the hospital within easy reach for an inventive plod to find...
Is your O/H better now?

How much longer can this sort of leftyism go on though? I'd like to see each and every scrote get the response they deserve, be it a major beating, or just a verbally aggresive retort such as that from Emsman. All of this don't sink to their level, look away, let the police deal with it stuff, is merely turning the UK into a country overrun with thugs.
You should all go out and buy some pitchforks.

I can't, the skanks were his responsibilty and should have been left in the van outside till they could be seen. To inflict that level of filth and abuse on normal people involved in their own personal trauma and overworked staff is beyond insensitive or professionalscotal said:
