What's a good price for 255/35/19's (Conti's)
Discussion
Chaps,
I'm currently 'enjoying' phoning around for a pair of rear's for my E46 M3. I want to put Conti's SC3's which are what I've got on at present and match the fronts.
Those of you who've bough some recently, what sort of price have you been paying and where did you get them from?
I don't mind paying for them but it seems that with just a couple of calls, I've knocked £50/tyre off them so want to get a good price.
Cheers

Im on the look out for rear tyres, and the general consensus of advice im getting is go for the KUMHO KU31 tyres. Everyone who uses them raves about them, saying there easily a match for the Michellin PS2's, with the bonus there only £127 from camskills. Thats what i think im gonna go for next month.
I want to keep the tyres matching so will stick with Conti's this time around. Fronts still have loads of life in them, but if I was going for all four, I'd look at all options.
Basically, my fronts have loads of life in them so have deiced to get just a pair of rears. Got them for £215/each which I think is a decent price.

Have you tried event tyres mate? What happened to trying out the PS2s?
Aye, I was thinkng about it. Actually went down the road of buying a full set of wheels and tyres for £1200 but I've decided against that - thought it was a bit extreme! Plus, still spending a lot of time in London, I'd possibly cry if I scared a brand new set of rims on day one!Basically, my fronts have loads of life in them so have deiced to get just a pair of rears. £215 a tyre!!! WTF. You are richer than me pal. And a better driver if you think Continentals are worth twice the price of Falkens. Presumably you work for Lloyds/HSBC Bank or the Government?!!M3RMS said:

I have had 6 sets of FK452's, I would put them ahead of the Contis, but would take some Kuhmos over both.
But PS2's for me now and nothing else. I went from PS2's to FK452's on the same car and wheels and was shocked at how poor they felt, lasted 3k miles before I begrudgingly bought another set of PS2's.

No bud, non of the above - just trying to keep the boots matching! When the time comes to put 4 of on, I will look in to PS2's and the Falkens, but right now, my aim is to keep all the tyres matching. Plus, they surely cant be that bad if BMW spec'd them from new?

Manufacturers don't fit the "best" tyre for a car. They have to contract to buy tens of thousands of tyres for a production run. They will buy the cheapest acceptable tyre - in this case, the Conti's! - However, not cheap for an individual to buy. I have used Falkens for over 10 years at less than half the cost of Michelins/Conti's & found them to last longer with jolly good wet/ice performance.

Ditch them, they are awful!! Plus, they surely cant be that bad if BMW spec'd them from new?
Sell the fronts on ebay for £150 the pair and put on 4 new Kumho KU31's for around £450 fitted, night and day difference.
